This book details the life of a couple who use their zoo to hide Jews during the Holocaust. Diane Ackerman went to great detail to research this true story and the book is woven with facts, actual quotes and pictures. Countless times throughout the book my heart was saddened by the horrors that took place during World War 2, but just as quickly my heart was touched by the amazing courage people had in risking their lives to save others. It's a good read!P.S.-The new book I picked up is Wicked. I'm only about 40 pages in, but I already don't want to put it down.

I am the exact same way with books. I want someone to recommend it before I will read it. Last month when Joey and I were going out of town I needed something though. I was in Target and picked up two books on a whim. My favorite of the two was Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay. I would recommend it to you.
The other was The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes by Diane Chamberlain. It was pretty good too. However, WARNING, there is some swearing and love scenes. So because of that I can't recommend it to everyone.
Keep the recommendations coming. I need something to read.
I so want to read this book! I've never heard of it until you blogged about it but it is right up my ally. Unfortunately, there are 7 holds on it at the library--I guess I'll have to wait awhile. :( Soem day!
