our return flight for the 4th weekend from slc to long beach was canceled as we arrived at the airport.
we were so kindly re-booked on a later flight to lax. huh. my car is in long beach and i'm flying to lax. doesn't seem to add up. but, it did to delta.
i finally wrangled some ground transportation out of the ticket agent. but, still. getting home hours later and sitting in traffic to get to your car. yuck.
of course, the carrier has no requirement to give you compensation if the flight is canceled. if you're bumped, you can get something out of it. canceled? only a 'next in line please'. i wasn't having it.
i emailed delta the next day to complain. not cool, guys.
i quickly received a reply to apologize for the inconvenience and give both of us a $50 voucher for next time travel. was it still a pain to fly home? yes. but, getting $100 for a 5 minute email? a little victory.
