I overheard this short exchange on the trolley this morning.
white middle aged man: Do you speak Spanish?
20 something girl: Uh, no, I'm Japanese.
Oye. I looked at my friend next to me and we both gave one another the 'did that just happen?' eye. I won't say I'm the brightest bulb in the bunch, but it is times like these when I understand why some people think Americans are ignorant. Or just have no mouth filter whatsoever.
